The tubular turbine generator unit (1) has a turbine wheel (5) to which a drive shaft (7) is rotationally and rigidly connected. An electric generator (9) has a rotor (11) with a rotor winding (12) and a stator (13) with a stator winding (14). The rotor is indirectly driven by drive shaft. A tubular turbine casing (8) is arranged to enclose the electrical generator. The rotor winding and stator winding are made of superconductive material.
