The combustion engine (10) has a crankcase (12) through which the coolant flows. A left coolant chamber (18) is arranged in the vertical direction (17) of the crankcase. The coolant flow through below the first coolant chamber. The right coolant chamber (20) is fluidly separated partially from the left coolant chamber. An associated duct element (22) is designed separately from the crankcase and fluidly connected to the right coolant chamber for venting the right coolant chamber.
