The invention relates to a device for inducing non-tissue-damaging stimuli for testing a subject's mechanically induced pain sensation, comprising: a stimulus-induction unit for inducing non-tissue-damaging stimuli on a body part of the subject to be examined; a control unit for controlling the stimulus induction unit; and a positioning unit on which at least the stimulus-induction unit is arranged and which is designed to be arranged on the body part of the subject to be examined. The invention further relates to a method for inducing non-tissue-damaging stimuli for testing a subject's mechanically induced sensation of pain.
