The fuel tank (2) has a tank volume (5), which is surrounded by fixed exterior walls (4). Two withdrawal points (9,10) are provided for extracting fuel from the tank volume, which are arranged at opposite ends of the tank volume. The exterior wall arranged in the bottom area is substantially formed flat and parallel to the horizontal plane of the vehicle. A filling level sensor (6) is provided, which is centrally arranged between the two withdrawal points.
