The motor vehicle (1) has two lamps distributed in the inner space of the vehicle, whose light color is adjustable, and a sensor unit (19) for detecting the measurement data. The lamps and the sensor unit are connected with a control device (13), which is provided with an evaluation unit (15) for the evaluation of the measured data. The light color of the lamps is established by the control device depending on the evaluation of the evaluation unit. The color information of a graphical representation displayed on a display (21) is detected as the measurement data by the sensor unit. The display is a component of a head unit, where the graphical representation is a cover of a music album. An independent claim is included for a method for adjusting a light color and -intensity of the ambient lighting of an inner space of a motor vehicle.
