The flange connection structure (13) has flange collar which is provided on end faces of connected tubular components (3, 6, 7) of steel tower (2) of wind energy plant (1). The bores are formed in flange collar and penetrated over surface in contact plane of connected components. The flange collar is formed with trapezoidal cross section. An independent claim is included for a method for connecting tubular components of steel tower.
