The method involves providing a base material (11) comprising a core material (25) and a covering material (27). The core material is selected to be different from the covering material. The core material has a higher resistance than the covering material. The covering material is more corrosion resistant than the core material. An equal channel angular pressing raw material is formed into the connector (23). The base material is preferably provided as a solid cylinder or a hollow cylinder.
