The system (1) has a high voltage battery (2) e.g. lithium-ion battery, a battery management system (3), where a set of poles of the high voltage battery is electrically connected with a set of high voltage electrical systems (5, 5') or electric motor drives. The battery is arranged with a pyrotechnic safety device (7) for separating the battery from high-voltage. The battery management system provides a signal for triggering the safety device when a pole of the battery of the high voltage electrical system and/or the motor drivers is disconnected.
