The radial compressor has a compressor wheel (20) having an impeller vane (50) and rotatable around a rotational axis (22). The compressor wheel is blown in axial direction by air to be compressed by the compressor wheel during operation of the radial compressor. The compressor wheel deflects the air in radial direction. An axial diffuser (58) extends in axial direction and is flow-throughable by the compressed air. The compressed air flows away from the compressor wheel over an outlet edge of the impeller vane. The compressed air flows axially directly from the compressor wheel into the axial diffuser. The axial diffuser has an actuating element (62) by which a flow cross-section of the axial diffuser is adjusted.
