The electric hydraulic pump unit has a hydraulic pump (20), an electric motor (10) and a reluctance machine (11), where the hydraulic pump sucks in pressure medium from a container (14) and supplies into a conveyor line (15), and the consumer of the hydraulic system is controlled by an electrically operated control way valve (23) connected with the conveyor line. The torque support of the electric motor is released to the hydraulic system in front of the control way valve till a switch-on point is reached for starting the electric motor from the standstill.
