Use of a mixture comprising at least one polyvinyl acetal and at least one laser absorber as laser marking agent for laser-markable polymers, is claimed. The laser-markable polymer is polyethylene, polypropylene, polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, polybutylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, butadiene-styrenes, acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylic ester, polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride, polyoxymethylene or its copolymers, or thermoplastic elastomers.
