The guide unit and the spring elements are adjusted according to the frequency of the chain oscillations. The guide unit is designed as tensioning rail (16) and/or guide rail (17). The guide section (18) of guide unit is made of plastic. The bearing section (20) of guide unit is made of metal such as aluminum, or a composite material, and connected with guide section. An independent claim is included for propulsion system for driving an unit of an automobile engine.
