The machine (1) has semiconductor switching modules (5X-5Z, 6U-6W) provided according to phase windings of stator windings (2, 3). The modules comprise switching elements that are provided with a control circuit for controlling the elements to convert an alternating current (AC) voltage in the stator windings into a direct current (DC) voltage or the DC voltage supplied by a battery (14) into the AC voltage at the stator windings. The modules are mounted on a terminal block (8) such that terminals of the modules are exposed to outside and connected to external terminals of external devices.
