The method involves detecting oscillating input signals (18,19) from which respective carrier envelope offset frequency (f CEO) and repetition rate (f REP) of N-th laser pulse of equidistant laser pulses (7) is derived. The carrier-envelope phase for every N-th laser pulse of equidistant laser pulses is corrected to same solid phase value. A drive signal is formed as electrical offset lossy frequency comb signal whose frequency spectrum has discrete frequency components. The individual discrete frequency component is formed and expressed in specific equation form. An independent claim is included for a device for generating drive signal for driving acousto-optical device for carrier-envelope phase correction and stabilization of N-th laser pulse of equidistant laser pulses.
