The method involves monitoring voltages at power distribution lines (50, 52) that are arranged parallel to each other, where the power distribution lines include first and second isolator switches (1, 2). A third isolator switch (3) is monitored and controllably operated between opened and closed conditions. The third isolator switch is controlled in the opened condition, when one of the monitored voltages violates a reference voltage. The third isolator switch is controlled in a closed position when the monitored voltage does not violate the reference voltage.
