ACQUISITION OF CRANKCASE INCOMPATIBILITY

Methods and systems are provided for using a crankcase ventilation tube pressure or flow sensor to diagnose a position and nature of an intactness in the crankcase ventilation system. The same sensor can also be used to diagnose air filter clogging and PCV valve impairment. Using an existing sensor to diagnose multiple engine components offers benefits of cost reduction and sensor compression.
