The stand has two spaced apart vertically extending brackets (10) for receiving the front wheels of set electric bikes. Each bracket includes a loading and locking cup (14) whose bottom is made of an electrically conductive material. One of the brackets includes a drive for horizontal displacement of the respective cup towards a charging plate on a hub (18) of the front wheels of the electric bikes such that edges of the cup engage around the charging plate. A spacer pressurizes the bottom of one of the cups with charging current. An independent claim is also included for an electric bike.
