The rotor has of magnetically conductive material, which rotor segments over the circumference of a rotor casing are arranged distributed. Between the rotor segments are magnetically poorly conductive regions of the rotor casing. The rotor segments are embedded in a base body so that the outer or the inner side of the base body forms a closed jacket.
