The thermo-chemical heat accumulator (1) has a storage medium (7) for heat storage of reversible gas-solid reaction material. The accumulator containing oxygen process gas is operable. The storage medium is formed as a multi-component system with two metal oxides such as cobalt oxide and copper oxide. The storage medium is accommodated in a container (3) that is provided with a thermal insulation layer (5). The container has a feed line (9) for process gas through which the process gas is provided to the storage medium.
