The base station (110) has a first radio device to communicate with a user equipment (UE) (150) via first channel, a second radio device to communicate with user equipment via second channel, and a processing device coupled to radio devices for exchanging data with user equipment via both channels during normal operating mode, for analyzing data, and performing a differentiated handover to a target base station on basis of data analysis. The processing device transmits a staggered handover request message to target base station and stops exchange of data only through first channel. An independent claim is included for user equipment.
