The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for calculating a with respect to a reduced noise emission optimized rail profile and a rail whose profile is selected so that the noise emission in the comparison with profiles of the prior art is significantly reduced.The method is modeled the rail profile of a standard vignol for travel routes tracked vehicles which, as a reference for the assessment of the vibration behavior serves. Then the parameters are systematically modified and of the mounting rail profile for each rail section of the vibration behavior is calculated. Taking into account the wheel-rail-interaction and the sensitivity of the human ear, the effect of the sound radiation of the rails for the modified parameters are evaluated and optimized.An acoustically optimized rail profile, in which the center of gravity of the rail head a smaller distance away from the center of gravity of the rail foot than is the standard profile a bullheaded rail.
