The present invention describes a catalytic composition comprising a compound of ruthenium (a), a compound (b) comprising a triple bond carbon - carbon and a compound of silane type or siloxane type (c) and a method of olefin metathesis operating in the absence of gaseous hydrogen and implementing said catalytic composition.
