The device (1) has a finishing section (2) intended to be placed facing a joint between a wall (M) and a carpentry frame (CD) and overlapping the joint. A rabbet section (3) is shaped to be inserted and retained in a rabbet (F) formed in an edge of the frame. The rabbet section and the finishing section include a mutual fixing unit having a tongue (27) fitting in a U-shaped cavity (30), and include a series of non-return notches. The U-shaped cavity includes an elastically deformable external wall.
