The device has a frame (D) whose hinges (4) fixes the device to wings of a window to be fitted. An adaptation unit is adapted to the hinges or hinge plates. A fixing device (3) fixes a rod (T). The adaptation unit comprises a plate (20) whose thickness is lesser than that of a gap (E), which separates the hinges or the hinge plates from each other. The frame is pivoted on opening of the window, so that the plate of the adaptation unit is engageable and lockable in the gap. The plate of the adaptation unit is laterally covered by a rod or bar (2).
