The component (1) i.e. folding armrest, has a padding block that is made of elastically compressible foam, where the block includes a support face (3), a peripheral wafer (4) and a back face (5). A rigid plate (7) is arranged for covering of the back face, where the blade is molded by the block. A strap (8) is associated with the plate. An anchoring element in the form of a blank is arranged at an end of the strap. The blank includes a porous layer, and the anchoring element is molded by the block, and the foam impregnates the porous layer so as to rigidify the porous layer. The strap is a component of a grip handle. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a lining component.
