The engine has a cylinder head (1) fixed on a cylinder (3), and a reciprocating piston (7) defining a combustion chamber (5) in an upper position within the cylinder. The piston is connected to a downstream mechanism by an actuating rod (8), a fuel injector (17), an oxidizer injector (18), and an exhaust valve (12). A flame detector (32) registers the start of the combustion reaction between a fuel and an oxidant, where an actuator (16) and the flame detector cause activation of a fogger-injector (19) immediately after the initiation of the combustion reaction between the fuel and the oxidant. An independent claim is also included for a motorized assembly for a ship.
