The machine has a supply unit formed of an endless screw (42) and a conveyor belt (44) for supplying multiple objects placed vertically on gripping posts (40). A gripping unit formed of clamp and gripper arm is adapted to pick the objects on the posts to incline the objects from head to tail so as to deposit the objects in a case. The posts are equipped with a positioning unit formed of driver rollers (45) and pressure rollers (46) for positioning the objects according to a step on a gripping axis of the objects. The positioning unit turns the objects to direct labels carried by the objects. An independent claim is also included for a method for packing elongated objects in two rows.
