Method for carrying out radiography at high temperature at wall of e.g. tap, involves immobilizing radiographic film and insulating material layer, and exposing film to radiation by activating radiation source for limited duration
The method involves placing a gamma radiation source (14) on a side of a face (16) of a wall (12) of a metal element (13). Another opposite face (20) of the wall is covered with a non-metal insulating material layer (22) at high temperature. A radiographic film (18) is arranged in vicinity to the material of the insulating material layer relative to the latter face of the wall. The radiographic film and the insulating material layer are immobilized using a fixing unit (24). The radiographic film is exposed to a gamma radiation by activating the radiation source for a limited duration. The non-metal insulating material layer comprises an aerogel that is reinforced with a non-woven glass fabric or pyrogel (RTM: flexible aerogel nanoporous insulation blanket).
