The device (1) has an upper wall (10) that is prolonged on both sides by two side walls (11, 11'). A width of upper wall decreases from an input opening (13) until the bottom of the input opening. A suction opening is placed in the bottom of the input opening. The upper wall and the two side walls are made of a perforated material, water filter and water sieve. The perforated material presents a percentage of void of about 50%. The sieve is provided with rectangular meshes. An independent claim is also included for an installation for collecting seaweeds scattered at the bottom of water.
