The method involves constructing a matrix (ZD) containing extracted Doppler spectra images (SAR1-SARp) (405), and calculating a matrix of autocorrelation of unwanted echoes affecting a retrodiffused radar signal (406). A filter (WD) intended to be applied to the matrix is calculated (407) to minimize the power of the unwanted echoes while preserving the power of the echo of interest within the retrodiffused radar signal. The matrix is filtered (408) by the filter, and radar focused final images are constructed (409) by aggregation of matrices filtered for a set of range slots. An independent claim is also included for a multichannel radar system.
