The device has cams (10-60) sliding in a direction longitudinal to a hollow shaft (100) between a position corresponding to a nominal valve actuating mode and a position corresponding to the deactivation of the nominal mode. A control shaft (200) is mounted inside the hollow shaft, where inner fingers mechanically connect the hollow shaft and the cams, so as to transform relative rotation of the hollow shaft relative to the control shaft in a sequence of sliding movements of the cams such that the relative rotation activates and deactivates the nominal valve actuating mode by the cams.
