The substrate has a section with a round contour (C), complementary to a section of an exhaust gas depollution case of a thermal engine. A section of a set of bars (123A, 123B, 124A, 124B, 125A, 125B) is rectangle, triangle or trapezoid in shape. The bars are obtained from a longitudinal cut of a bar (121) with a square section, according to a line passing by a medium on a side of the square section. The bars are arranged along the round contour, where one side of the bars obtained from the cut is tangential to the contour. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a depollution device comprising an exhaust gas depollution case (2) a method for manufacturing a filtration substrate.
