The method involves supplying a body of a smart card (40) including opposite faces (40a, 40b). A cavity (42) leading to one of the faces (40a) is formed, and adapted to receive a microchip (38). An opening (44) crossing a thickness of the body is formed so that the opening emerges in the cavity and on the other face (40b). An insert (52) is electrically conductively inserted (E8) in the opening to establish an electric connection between the cavity and the latter face. An antenna is laminated so that the antenna is electrically contacted with a bottom of the cavity via the insert. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electronic device (2) a smart card body (3) a smart card.
