The method involves providing a grooved base (A) in which a bell is inscribed, where the base is provided in a showcase. A pressure is provided on two transfer parts (C), where each of the two transfer parts is allowed to be provided with an inertial part (E). The transfer parts are provided with a head that is directed towards the interior of the showcase having a pane (B). Two holes are created in the bottom of a channel for receiving the transfer parts. A switch (D) is installed under the transfer parts that are directed towards the interior of the showcase. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting break-in attempts at a showcase containing valuables.
