The general field of the invention is that of the methods for determining a taxiway of an aircraft on an airport area. The method is implemented by the avionics system of the aircraft. It comprises the following steps: - Determination of the "nodes" of a connectivity graph, said nodes representative of the junction points between the taxiways of the airport zone; - Determination of the useful arcs joining said nodes and representative of the network of taxiways that can be borrowed by the aircraft; - Assigning a "weight" to each useful bow; - Determination of the optimal path by a Dijkstra type algorithm from the present position of the aircraft to its destination position and passing through set points; - Calculation and display of a graphical representation including a representation of the airport area, the aircraft and the optimal path.
