The method includes steps of: a) selecting on the controller (100) subscription characteristics; b) executing a bank transaction in a specific secure environment (112) within the PLC, reading a bank card (116) and verifying the PIN, and then generating by a bank information system (400) a debit order and an acquittal authorizing the continuation of the transaction; c) generation of an encrypted token justifying the acquittal; d) extracting and reading a SIM card (110) from a stored stock in the PLC; e) interrogating the information system of the network operator (200); f) assigning a number and activating the line associated with this number; g) verification by the PLC of the correct reading of the ICCID serial number of the SIM card; and h) confirmation to the user of the immediate activation of the telephone line, with presentation of the call number assigned by the network operator. The SIM card is ready for use at the output of the PLC without further intervention of the subscriber.
