Sharing of conference settings in video and teleconferences

A communication system in which two multipoint control units (MCUs) are able to share conference settings from a first communications end-point thus enabling a second conference to be executed according to the settings obtained from the first communications end-point. A first MCU, 106a, in communication with a first communication endpoint, 102a or 102b, stores conference settings for the first communication end-point. A second MCU, 106b, receives and saves the conference settings from the first MCU. The second MCU can then normalise these conference settings and then use them to execute a second conference associated with the first communications end-point. The conference settings can include configuration information for the conference such as which codes are used for the conference, delay or other information from a quality report or information about which end-points are involved in a conference.
