Separating an unknown radar signal out from multiple unknown radar signals

A method of separating an unknown radar signal from multiple unknown radar signals transmitted by sources Src_A, Src_B based on the time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements received at spatially different antennas Rx1, Rx2. Time segments of pulsed signals arriving at the two antennas may be cross-correlated to produce several correlation peaks that correspond to TDOAs of different radar signals (and their aliases). The original set of pulses from a particular transmitter can then be extracted from the received signals and the pulse repetition interval from the reconstructed signal used to discount some of the other correlation peaks as aliases. A hyperbola can be plotted on a map defined by the constant TDOA that defines all possible locations of the source. Repeating the measurement with the signals received at another pair of antennas results in a second hyperbola, the intersection with the first giving the location of the transmitter, a process known as multilateration.
