PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classification information generation device for sign language words for generating search classification information for searching sign language words from characteristics of forms, positions, and directions of hands in motion of the sign language.SOLUTION: A classification information generation device 1 for sign language words includes: representative frame detection means 10 that detects a representative frame, the motion amount of which is minimum from motion data representing motion of the sign language; a form classification means 11 that classifies each sign language word by a hand form based on a rotation amount of the joints of the fingers of the motion data; and position direction classification means 12 that calculates the positions and directions of the joints of the hand for each representative frame and classifies the position of the hand and the direction of the hand.
