PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel fluorescent material for violet ray excitation which provides a high-brightness light-emitting device when used in light-emitting devices including a UV ray LED or a violet LED.;SOLUTION: A fluorescent material for violet excitation is of formula [1], emits light by excitation with UV or violet rays of wavelengths of 380-430 nm, has a peak wavelength of the excitation spectra in the range of 370-440 nm and a peak wavelength of emission spectra with excitation light of the wavelength of 405 nm of 505 nm or longer.
