PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic metal halide lamp arranged so that the occurrence of crack in a seal portion of a tubule part of a discharge tube can be avoided even if the lamp is activated and deactivated repeatedly, and further improved in the corrosion resistance of the seal portion.;SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a ceramic metal halide lamp comprises the step of forming a slurry including silicon oxide, dysprosium oxide and aluminum oxide so that the content of the silicon oxide is given by X(SiO2)=37-51 mol%, and X(SiO2)+X(Dy2O3)+X(Al2O3)=100 mol% (where X(Dy2O3)≥5 mol%, and X(Al2O3)≥10 mol%), provided that the content of the silicon oxide is represented by X(SiO2) mol%, the content of the dysprosium oxide is represented by X(Dy2O3) mol%, and the content of the aluminum oxide is represented by X(Al2O3) mol%. The method further comprises the step of forming a frit including silicon oxide, dysprosium oxide and aluminum oxide so that the most frequent value in its particle diameter distribution is between 64-105 μm, and the content ratio of particles having diameters of 63 μm or less is 22 wt.% or more.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
