PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of consumption amount of an electrode in a non-consumption electrode type arc welding machine capable of simply and reasonably knowing an amount of consumption or state (degree) of consumption at a vertex of a tip portion forming a tapered shape of an electrode, when the tip portion forming the tapered shape is subjected to arc welding while retaining a prescribed discharge interval with respect to an object to be welded on the electrode in a non-consumption electrode type arc welding machine.;SOLUTION: A protrusion state of a tip portion 120 of an electrode 110 is photographed from the outer circumferential surface side of the protrusion state to make image data before or after a welding process. On both sides of a tapered shape of the tip portion 120 of the electrode 110 on the image data, straight lines L1, L1 which come into contact with bus lines of the tapered shape are drawn and an intersecting point of the two straight lines L1, L1 is set as a virtual vertex P. A position of an actual vertex 121 of the tip portion 120 which forms a tapered shape of the electrode 110 on the image data is detected, the difference S of elevation between the actual vertex and the virtual vertex P is detected and the amount of consumption of the tip portion 120 of the electrode 110 is measured from the difference of elevation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
