PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail fastening method for fastening a rail with a rail fastening device for fastening the rail by that a pressing part of a fastening spring urged by a screw mechanism is in contact with the rail to press, and the rail fastening device.SOLUTION: A rail fastening device 4 for fastening a rail 1 with a rail fastening device 10 for fastening the rail 1 on a slab track by that a pressing part of a fastening spring 20 urged by a fastening bolt 16 and a fastening nut 17 presses the rail 1, the device comprises: a base part 40 disposed on the rail 1; a fastening part 50 provided to the base part 40 for fastening the fastening nut 17 by pressing the fastening spring 20 to deform; and a control unit, and the control unit is configured to perform fastening of the nut 17 after a start of deformation of the fastening spring 20 by the fastening part 50.
