PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform calibration in a lateral direction of a load cell attached to a rotary drum.SOLUTION: A calibration device 2 of a tire testing machine 1 performs calibration of a force component along a lateral direction of a load cell 5 of the tire testing machine 1 having: a cylindrical rotary drum 4 rotatably attached around a vertical shaft part; and the load cell 5 attached to the shaft part of the rotary drum 4, and capable of measuring force applied to the rotary drum 4. The calibration device 2 includes: a hook member 15 hooked onto an outer peripheral edge of the rotary drum 4; a long string-like linear body 16 one end of which is connected to the hook member 15; a load giving body 17 connected to the other end of the linear body 16, and capable of generating the downward reference load for calibrating the load cell 5; and a pulley 18 around which the linear body 16 is wound, for converting the downward force given to the other end of the linear body 16 by the load giving body 17 into the upward force at one end of the linear body 16.
