PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-fit terminal and a connector capable of suppressing damage to a substrate and breakage of a contact and obtaining a stable insertion force and holding force.SOLUTION: A press-fit terminal 10 is composed of a wire 11 having a predetermined length and a predetermined thickness. At the wire 11, a tip part 12 to be press fitted into a substrate at one end, a connection part 13 to be connected to a mating terminal at the other end, and a press-fit part 14 press fitted into the substrate on the tip part 12 of the wire 11 are formed. At a shoulder part 16 on the connection part 13 side of the press-fit part 14, a recess that is more recessed than a predetermined thickness of the wire is formed.
