PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel expression promoting agent which can promote the expression of filaggrin gene and the like which are involved in production of a natural moisturizing factor, and to provide a novel production inhibitor which can inhibit production of a stem cell factor (SCF).SOLUTION: The invention provides a filaggrin gene and/or caspase 14 gene expression promoting agent containing D-glucopyranosyl glycerol, and a SCF production inhibitor. These expression promoting agent and production inhibitor can be prepared for oral ingestion or application.
