PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining whether the intestinal flora is of elderly type or of youngish type.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for determining the degree of aging of an intestinal flora comprising a step of determining whether the intestinal fora is of an elderly type or of youngish type by comparing the ratio of at least one population belonging to certain 17 divisions or families to the total number of microorganisms (bacteria and archaea) contained in a fecal sample with a predetermined standard ratio of respective populations of the 17 divisions or families.
