PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrogen storage alloy, capable of producing a hydrogen storage alloy which can increase a discharge capacity, an electrode for an alkali storage battery containing the hydrogen storage alloy produced by the production method, and an alkali storage battery .SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a hydrogen storage alloy, comprising: a step of preparing a hydrogen storage alloy having a main phase of a body-centered cubic structure and a grain boundary phase containing Ti and Ni; a hydrogenation step of hydrogenating a portion of the hydrogen storage alloy by maintaining the same in an environment of a temperature of T [K] and hydrogen pressure of P [atm]; and a step of making hydrogen discharged from the hydrogenated portion. When a portion of the hydrogen storage alloy is hydrogenated in the hydrogenation step, the main phase is not hydrogenated. The temperature T is 573 K or less, and hydrogen pressure P satisfies a relationship: -8901/T+15.64ln P-5413/T+15.64. Also provided are an electrode for an alkali storage battery containing the hydrogen storage alloy produced by the production method, and an alkali storage battery containing the electrode and an alkaline electrolyte.
