PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt weld joining method for aluminum extruded shapes which enables a reduction in plate thickness and a depression in a joint after being ground to be reduced.SOLUTION: The aluminum extruded shapes to be weld-joined are a first shape E1 formed from a first plate-like part P1 and a first rib part Pr1 integrally continuous with the first plate-like part P1, and a second shape E2 formed from the second plate-like part P2 and a second rib part Pr2 integrally continuous with the second plate-like part P2. The plate-like part P1 has a first end part Ew1 and a first bent part Pb1 curved to the side where the first rib part Pr1 is arc-welded with the first end part. The second plate-like part P2 has a second end part Ew2 and a second bent part Pb2 curved to the side where the second rib part Pr2 is arc-welded with the second end part Ew2. The butt weld joining method for aluminum extruded shapes comprises a step of causing the first and second end parts to butt against each other and a step of jointing the butted first and second end parts by arc welding to form a joint Jw.
