DC REGULATOR, DC-DC CONVERTER, AND ABNORMALITY MONITORING METHOD OF DIRECT-CURRENT REGULATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a DC regulator having functions of physically preventing the spread of a failure to a peripheral circuit in the event of abnormality, and preventing the failure spread to the peripheral circuit before the occurrence of abnormality by stopping the operation of the regulator in response to the detection of abnormality.SOLUTION: A DC regulator includes: a fuse F1 which is connected in series between a high potential side input voltage terminal +Vdd and a low potential side input voltage terminal; a high-side switch S1 and a low-side switch S2; and control units 31-37 for controlling the high-side switch and the low-side switch. The fuse is formed on a silicon substrate on which the high-side switch is formed. Each control unit controls conduction of the high-side switch and the low-side switch, detects an input current by utilizing the fuse, and based on the detected input current, detects the deterioration of the high-side switch and the low-side switch.
